How To Live a Pain Free Life



For most people, pain free living isn’t a Disney fairy tale. It can be achieved and sustained.

The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke estimates that 20,000,000 Americans suffer from peripheral nerve damage, also know as, neuropathy. As we highlight the pain, we’ll talk about how to prevent it, living a pain free life.

Nerve damage is more of a common disorder than you think. This type of damage becomes increasingly common with age. Up to 70% of people with diabetes have some nerve damage (WebMD). Diabetes, drug side effects or overexposure to toxins (too much medicine), autoimmune disease, compression/trauma and nutritional deficiencies can lead to nerve damage.

Additionally, it can be difficult to consume all of the natural minerals needed for a healthy diet. Vitamins can help boost your chances of avoiding nerve damage.

Lower back pain can be uncomfortable, especially when sitting. Ironically, sitting with your shoulders forward and a hunched back is a major reason this pain happens.

We suggest sitting tall as much as possible, making your abdomen does all the work. Now, your back is no longer compensating for your core. If at a desk, keep your arms down next to your body and elbows at a right angle for optimal lower back pain prevention.

Control your pain through meditation. Your perception of pain is connected to your state of mind, and it can be elevated in stressful conditions.

For example, one study used functional MRI techniques to observe brain activity as participants experienced a painful stimulus. Some participants had gone through four days of mindfulness meditation training, while others had not.

The meditating patients showed increased activity in the brain centers known to control pain. They also reported less sensitivity to pain (National Center for Biotechnology Information). Meditation in all forms at all times of the day are beneficial for pain prevention.

Living a pain free life doesn’t have to be stressful. As a matter of fact, it shouldn’t be stressful at all! That would be contradictory! Incorporating these suggestions into your daily habits should help decrease pain and increase happiness and longevity.
